Doggone Good Advice From Laurie March: Pet Protection for Your Floor

This week I received an excellent question from Paul and Jamie in Sante Fe, New Mexico, who are torn between their flooring and their four-legged friends.

Laurie, our dogs have done a number on a few spots in our hardwood floors. Is there a way to fix this without treating the entire floor? Or if we decide to redo them, what type of flooring can play with the big dogs best?

But put down an expensive carpet and voila! Hardwood is history! Man, it’s a good thing these guys are so cute.

There’s always going to be a certain amount of flooring maintenance that comes with having pets, but with a little research and some careful choices – your house and your dogs should be sitting pretty in no time.
